PETA - BRINGING HOPE TO SMITHTON PRIMARY SCHOOL
My name is Peta, and I am the school chaplain at Smithton Primary. I have worked as a school chaplain previously and really enjoyed working with children so I was excited when this position became available.
My role as chaplain involves supporting the school community socially, spiritually and emotionally, by being a part of the everyday lives of the staff, students and parents. I provide support in and out of classes as well as provide a safe place at lunchtimes for children to do crafts, talk and play.
The aim of SU Tas is to help young people and their families have hope for the future. Thanks to the generous support of many, I am able to bring light into children’s lives through helping them feel valued and providing them with loving support.
The work of chaplaincy will only continue with the support of the community and generous Tasmanians. Your gift will help support my work and school chaplaincy into the future!
