NAOMI - BRINGING HOPE TO GIRLS AT OGILVIE HIGH
I have been working with teenagers in high schools for 26 years, mostly running programs that build self-esteem and worth for young people. I have dedicated my working life to being available for our young people who desperately need positive relationships with adults in their lives. I believe we can make a huge difference in their lives and I’m so privileged to be working with SU as a chaplain.
There is an increasing need for our young people to have support during their school years. My role at Ogilvie has been to provide programs for the girls, where they can find strength, worth and purpose in their lives and be a positive part of the community. I also support one-to-one those who need some extra care, being there in any way that is needed. Even though there are many needs present, I do just what I can and encourage the very best for each student.
The aim of SU Tas is to bring hope for the future to young people and families. I believe through chaplaincy we are making a difference. As I work closely with students and help them build positive relationships, I see the light in their eyes as they begin to have hope for the years ahead.
The work of chaplaincy will only continue with the support of the community and generous Tasmanians. Your gift will help support my work and school chaplaincy into the future!
