KERRY - Bellerive PS
KERRY - BRINGING HOPE TO BELLERIVE PRIMARY
I have worked in the Community Services Sector for over 40 years. I undertook my initial Social Welfare training with the Department of Children’s Services in Queensland. I have since worked with children in residential care, operated a young offenders program, case managed homeless people and worked with the very long-term unemployed. I was called to chaplaincy after experiencing revelations in my work with young offenders.
In my role as school chaplain, I am responsible for the pastoral care of all members of my school community. This involves assisting with crises of every nature and dimension. While my work is loosely guided by a timetable and diary, I am on call at all times during the school day to deal with or assist with the full range of human needs. My work meets people’s need for hope and personal aspiration, with a goal for the entire school community to discover their capacity to find peace and happiness. The work of chaplaincy will only continue with the support of the community and generous Tasmanians. Your gift will help support my work and school chaplaincy into the future!
