JANINE - BRINGING HOPE TO YOUNG PEOPLE IN GEORGE TOWN
My name is Janine, and I am the school chaplain at South George Town PS. Prior to taking on this role eight years ago I had no connection with SU. I had no idea that chaplaincy was the path I would soon be walking. But God showed me where he wanted me to be!
The most important thing I do at school is listening, taking the time to be with children and staff, and respecting and valuing them as they share their lives with me.
When I first began as a chaplain I met students who had some limited contact with church or reading the Bible. That has decreased dramatically and I know the responsibility rests on the role of chaplain to be the light, and through our actions show God’s love.
The work of chaplaincy will only continue with the support of the community and generous Tasmanians. Your gift will help support my work and school chaplaincy into the future!
