CLAIRE - BRINGING HOPE TO YOUNG PEOPLE
My name is Claire, and I have been the school chaplain at Cosgrove High School since August 2016 and have also recently taken on the role of school chaplain at Jordan River Learning Federation (Senior School). Every day is unique; and I love building relationships with young people! As well as being a chaplain, I am also currently completing my Bachelor of Applied Social Sciences (Counselling). I am a mum of two boys.
I support the school community with various activities, including volunteering, running girls’ groups and providing one-on-one support for different students. I love just being a friend and a listening ear to many different young people and staff. For many teenagers, there are so many challenges they face. My role in the schools is important as I have the capacity to bring companionship, support and hope. The relationships that I have the opportunity to build with different students can make a huge difference in their lives. Whether it be by introducing them to different career opportunities, or helping them to realise their own abilities and talents, or simply being their friend – chaplaincy brings hope.
The work of chaplaincy will only continue with the support of the community and generous Tasmanians. Your gift will help support my work and school chaplaincy into the future!
