CHRISTINE - BRINGING HOPE TO SORELL AND DUNALLEY PRIMARY
My name is Christine and I am the school chaplain at Sorell and Dunalley Primary School. I have been actively working within school communities for many years, firstly as a parent volunteer, then as Teacher Assistant and Laboratory Technician. Since 2010 I have been a primary school chaplain, a welcome addition to my role as Children’s Ministry Coordinator for my local church.
In my role as school chaplain, I seek to provide ongoing support to students, staff and parents on a regular basis by being available. I bring to the role of chaplain professional training in Art and Childcare, with a focus on inviting everyone to be the best person they can be.
I believe my work is important as I can offer encouragement and guidance, through intentional conversations, creative play and a well practised ability to listen and pray. Journeying with my school communities through some very difficult experiences has led to positive outcomes and helped give them hope for the future.
The work of chaplaincy will only continue with the support of the community and generous Tasmanians. Your gift will help support my work and school chaplaincy into the future!
