ANDREW - BRINGING HOPE TO YOUNG PEOPLE AT BURNIE HS
My name is Andrew; I am a former Melbournian who moved to North West Tasmania in 2002. I have 25 years’ experience in public service with particular emphasis in para legal administrative duties. However, it seems that God had other plans for me instead!
In 2017 I took on the role as school chaplain at Burnie High School. My present duties involve supporting Years 7 and 8 students who have particular needs. There is much in the world today that is negative and it is so easy for young people to make poor decisions. I am available at the school for when students face challenges, and it is my desire to bring some good into their lives.
The aim of SU Tas is to help young people and their families have hope for the future. As I listen to young people and assist, if I can, I am helping them realise their self-worth and improve their chances in life.
The work of chaplaincy will only continue with the support of the community and generous Tasmanians. Your gift will help support my work and school chaplaincy into the future!
