KATH - BRINGING HOPE TO SNUG PRIMARY SCHOOL
My name is Kath, and I am the school chaplain at Snug Primary School. I grew up in country Victoria, before studying youth and community work in Tasmania. It was during the next 10 years of carrying out the Kingborough Council’s Youth Work, and starting my own family, that my heart for children and the challenges they face grew stronger and led me into chaplaincy.
In 2011, I began my work with SU Tas in Snug Primary. The school has over 360 students from a range of diverse backgrounds. I am able to support these students, and those aged birth to four who are attending Launching into Learning. I help to create a caring environment where each individual feels heard and cared for, whatever their needs are.
The vison of SU Tas is to help bring hope for the future to young people and their families. Thanks to generous supporters, I am outworking this vision by building relationships with young people and the entire school community, and helping them understand the part they play in this world.
The work of chaplaincy will only continue with the support of the community and generous Tasmanians. Your gift will help support my work and school chaplaincy into the future!
