My name is Ellen, and I am the school chaplain at Ouse District School. Being the Anglican priest in this community, I was volunteering at the school when I was then asked to become their chaplain to give extra support to this small, rural community. As a chaplain, I work as an extra support person for both the children and the parents within the school. I have also had links with SU through their camping program for several years.
The school is located in an extremely isolated area. Because of its isolation, opportunities for work and social interaction are limited. Within this isolated community, I seek to bring hope and encouragement to the school community. I support children, staff and parents as they interact with one another and make plans for their futures.
The work of chaplaincy will only continue with the support of the community and generous Tasmanians. Your gift will help support my work and school chaplaincy into the future!
