CAMERON - BRINGING HOPE TO ELIZABETH COLLEGE
I have been chaplain at Elizabeth College since the beginning of 2016. I have had significant experience working with youth in a wide range of circumstances and a passion to see young people reach their potential.
Elizabeth College is a co-educational senior secondary college and was one of the first schools in Tasmania to provide a chaplaincy service for students, operating for over 20 years.
My work as chaplain involves connecting with students and staff in need of support and encouragement in times of stress and crisis, as well as offering support and being a friendly, welcoming face to all.
SU Tas aims to provide young people with hope for the future, and my role is critical in helping create a positive culture at the college and helping students realise their value and worth.
Following a decision by the state Department of Education in 2014, no Tasmanian senior secondary college has received federal funding for chaplaincy. Thanks to the generous support of the college, churches, individuals and our chaplaincy committee, the chaplaincy program has been able to continue. But it can only do so if the support is ongoing. Would you consider partnering with me in support of my chaplaincy work at Elizabeth College? To do so, simply fill in the form and return to SU Tas.
