ANN - BRINGING HOPE TO YOUNG PEOPLE
My name is Ann, and I am the school chaplain at Glenora District School, New Norfolk Primary School, and Westerway Primary School. I have volunteered with Scripture Union for close to 30 years in local schools, after school clubs and various camps. I also worked for six years in the SU Tas office. Before that I was a School Dental Therapist in WA.
I provide support not only to students, but also to their families and school staff. I do this in numerous ways, including one-on-one activities with students according to their individual needs, organising and running breakfast clubs, lunchtime activities, school vegetable and fruit gardens, cooking, arts and crafts, after school clubs,
weekend working bees and occasionally taking a funeral or celebrating a wedding for members of a school community. It’s a busy job but I love being able to support the whole school community.
In partnership with you, I want to see students, staff, families and the whole school community flourishing individually and together. I believe that all positive and supportive assistance helps students, staff, school families and the whole community to have a growing and real hope for the future.
The work of chaplaincy will only continue with the support of the community and generous Tasmanians. Your gift will help support my work and school chaplaincy into the future!
