KEN - BRINGING HOPE TO YOUNG PEOPLE AT ROMAINE PARK PS
My name is Ken, and I am the school chaplain at Romaine Park Primary School. I have a background in youth work and counselling. It was during my time as a school counsellor, and then as a school mentor, that I started to develop a deeper appreciation for children and the issues they face.
In my role as school chaplain, I work with students in small groups or one-to-one, just being there in times of need and building relationships in the school, which in turn can help students to develop positive and supportive relationships themselves. I support students in the classroom, in wider school activities and in the initiatives of the chaplaincy program.
The aim of SU Tas is to help young people and their families have hope for the future. I am grateful for the opportunity to provide social and emotional support to young people that help provide a solid foundation for the rest of their lives.
The work of chaplaincy will only continue with the support of the community and generous Tasmanians. Your gift will help support my work and school chaplaincy into the future!
