LEAH - BRINGING HOPE TO RIVERSIDE PRIMARY
My name is Leah and I am very grateful to be a chaplain at Riverside Primary School. I have enjoyed travelling to many parts of our world, worked in children’s and community services and I’m glad to use my skills, my experiences and my passion in my role as school chaplain.
Life has many ups and downs and it’s no different for the children that attend Riverside Primary School. The students I support right now are dealing with some difficult times at school, at home and in life generally. My goal is to give these young people
a listening ear and the tools they need to get through these ‘downs’ in life.
It is a huge privilege to have a practical role and to be a part of the school community and many young people’s lives. My two days a week are spent one-to-one with children, in small groups or in a class setting. I know the programs we do, the time we spend, the activities we prepare are bringing change and good into many lives which leads to change and good in our community and the north of our beautiful state of Tasmania.
The aim of SU Tas is to bring hope for the future, and together with generous supporters I am able to show hope by providing a loving, stable and positive environment at Riverside Primary School.
The work of chaplaincy will only continue with the support of the community and generous Tasmanians. Your gift will help support my work and school chaplaincy into the future!
