Prior to becoming a school chaplain in 2010 I had no connection with SU. I had no idea that chaplaincy was the path I would soon be walking. But God showed me where he wanted me to be! Now I am school chaplain at South George Town Primary School.
The most important thing I do at school is listening, taking the time to be with children, families and staff, and respecting and valuing them as they share their lives with me.
When I first began I met students who had some limited contact with church. That has decreased dramatically and I know the responsibility rests on the role of chaplain to share a different way of doing life, to be the light, and through our actions show God’s love.
The work of chaplaincy will only continue with the support of the community and generous Tasmanians. Your gift will help support my work and school chaplaincy into the future!
